New Alabama Question

I plan to hunt Covington WMA. What are my odds of getting a Hunter's Choice permit at the checking station? Also ,am I correct in assuming that you can mostly only hunt Sat. and Sun. on this WMA? I'm seeing only sparatic hunts of 2 days only scattered through Nov..-Jan.for stalked hunts.

Thanks ,
Chuck

RE: New Alabama Question

If you can stand a longer drive, there are some good lands near here around Montgomery. The Tuskeegee National Forest has around 16000 acres and as I understand is largely unhunted. I've seen some very big bucks come out of there. There is Coosa WMA, Loundes WMA and Autauga WMA but these are more crowded and have limited days unlike the National Forest land.

RE: New Alabama Question

the hunts are on friday and saturday. you have about one in four chances to draw for a either sex permit. How ever you can bow hunt on sunday. also look at hunting blue springs wma, which is only 20 minutes from covington and has hunts on different weekends.
