Already Seeing Spots!
while scouting yesterday(you know for the boss bird). I saw a doe standing in an old road bed, looking hard in the brush.well I figurea newborn. then a yearling fully spotted comes running out. it stopps beside her,it is half her size.I would say two mo's. old.
Had to be born in first to mid. Jan. kinda early even for Fl. the wife and I sat and watched them for a while, and talked about how old it must be. if not that old,it will weight 300 lbs. when grown(Not) anyone ever know a fawn to be born so early? it was a whitetail also.not some of those exoits. |
RE: Already Seeing Spots!
could have been last years late fawn and some kind of piebald
that would have to be some kind of record early breeding for floridia |
RE: Already Seeing Spots!
In our area I wouldn't be surprised to see a spotted fawn at any time of the year the rut is so messed up.. There were two bucks chasing does in our backyard last week. I guess the out of balance doe population is most of the blame.
