Eglin Air Force Base???

Does any one have any info on hunting this base? I am mainly intrested in hunting hogs. Do they have a good hog population? is there alot of pressure in the off seasons? Any and all info will be awesome.

Call 850-882-4164 to the Jackson Guard/Natural Resources department. The base is a large area, about 15 miles by 50 miles and there are a lot of hogs in most places. Most of the hogs range a good bit constantly hunting for food sources. The people at Jackson Guard should be able to send you maps of open hunting areas, types of weapons legal, seasons, license requirements, etc. I doubt there is a lot of hog hunting. I tried deer hunting there about 25 years ago and there were too many people out there for me then.

I called them up 2 monrths ago. They said the regulations change alot and don't send an aplication until Sept. If you pay the 40.00 you can hunt there I understand. Your map will come after the 40 is paid. It's 471 miles from Lakeland , so I may pass on it.

Sorry about the non-help. I'll go by there in a week or so and stop and see if I can get some better information. I drove right by Jackson Guard today, but didn't know.
