I only know of one place near where I used to live that had feral hogs, but there are none to be hunted. Thank goodness they stay in Tennessee! The only place you could hunt them is maybe on a private fenced hunting operation, but who wants to do that?

Well Criggster ......shows how hard you got out there and banged on doors!!!.....There are feral hogs all along the Dan River in Virginia!!!!.....whitewolf....Im not sure where you are in Virginia but all along The Dan River and parts of the New River have hogs everywhere!!! Good luck~!

hey bfnc, e-mail me some towns. i used to live in lynchburg, worked in s.boston and danville area. i have been looking to go on a wild, unfenced hunt as close to vt as i can get. i have asked about va before, but no replies like yours! i am still looking for info into doing an elk hunt there, if anyone has dug anything up.

Sorry fo the late reply. I live in Alexandria, outside of DC, but I honestly don't know how far the Dan River is from where I live, and whereabouts the hogs are in relation to that. I'll have to find out if you can hunt them year round in VA - are they listed as s "nuisiance species" like coyote? If so, I'm all over it.

Do you ever hunt them?

Pat,

As I understand it, the elk "herd" in VA is in the extreme southwestern part of the state, and the elk drift over from KY. They're not regulated in a special manner as they are out West, and you can get one with a regular VA big game tag and check as you would a whitetail deer.
