Slow start to KY season?
 

I live in the eastern part of KY and so far our deer sighting numbers are low, I know the weather has been warm to hot but there just doesn't seem to be very many does being seen and not very fawns at all. Could be a poor season for sure but I'm still puttin in my stand time.

Don't let yourself get down. I've been seeing some nice bucks the past couple of days and almost ran over a monster 8-point last night in johnson county on my way to college.

Just noticed you are from staffordsville. The big buck was in the road on the oil springs cross over from rt. 40 to new 460.

Here in the sw part of the state it is starting to pick up. have started to see lone bucks now but still see 2-3 young ones together. most of the corn is combined now so they are coming to plots better now.
Had 2 8pointers within 10 yards this morn, just not what i want to but this 1 buck tag on. seen 11 deer in all 8 does and 4 bucks, the other bucks where on the other side of field i hunt and one was the big boy. I guess him to be 150-160 and he is a even long tine 8 point. and i am hunting on public land.

Been seeing alot of deer here in Gallatin Co. and Grant Co. things are looking good for this part of the state. Can't wait till sat. "Early muzzleloader" season.... I'm gonna let some smoke roll... ha ha ha

I saw a lot of does and a really nice buck last weekend just inside of Illinois near I-24. They're not moving as much right now, but the rut is coming soon. Just give them a chance

Things will pick up now that we got some rain. I went out this afternoon and saw 39 deer with 7 being bucks. trouble was they where all working the other end of the field. Think god for box blinds cause it rained the whole time and hard at times but the deer where moving better than they have all season.
