Just found your board. Started turkey hunting last year. Located in extreme southern Florida. Got lucky last year down here in "bear island" walk in WMA. Here's a pic of my hunting buddies one gets to walk by to get to your spot. Hope it works,(first try on Pic's)

One of the reasons Osceola's like to roost over water...I mean a couple of reasons.

;)

You're right. Located them last year roosted over water 30 yards away from big pine trees and 40 yards away from a open meadow with a dirt road down the edge next to the trees.

When they woke up and gave the call down, freaked me out a little. First time I ever heard something like that. Then the feild came alive. It was like they were slowly creeping in on me. Every now and then I'd see a head pop up, then gone. Only to be closer the next time. Like little subs with a periscope popping up.

Mr. Tom never made a sound and had the hens out front. Walked within 10 to 15 yards of me and stopped dead in his tracks. I don't know how he did it but he saw me.

He froze, locked right on me. Started to take a step back then boom. Then the air was full of all the others that I didn't even see.

It's hard to explain, the grass and palmetos for understory realy hides them good.

I'll be back out there in only 8 hours. He heeee, I love this stuff.
