Big Rack from Columbia County, Ark.
 

A while back I posted about a big buck killed out of my stand by one of my friends. This buck ranks #4 in Columbia County....Typicals. The deer scored 159 after deductions.

We have been really fortunate on this lease.....we have killed two or three a year that would score between 110 and 130 and three in the past three years that scored over 150.

The first was an 11 point that scored 157, the second that was a true 10 with six kickers that scored 152 and this one....

Nice!!!!!!!!!! I posted a thread a while back on Arkansas racks asking if they'd improved since the 3pts on one side rule has been implimented, was this deer taken on land that has been managed further? Once again, that's a goodun' no matter where it was taken.

This should shock a bunch of people...this buck was killed on land that the three point rule is in affect......there are no other management practices going on....in fact this land belongs to a club that has run dogs on it for 25 plus years.....this year we killed 41 bucks and 9 does.....all 8 point or better......We finally voted out running dogs for this coming year since we killed only five deer behind dogs.....with a little time I believe the deer quality will get even better on this lease.

For those who keep congratulating me.....thanks....I wish I could take credit for the kill but I did not kill him....that is a hunting partner of mine.....but I will take credit for the scouting that I did and the stand placement since it was my stand he killed it in....LOL

Very nice buck. One thing the good bucks have to have is time. We stopped running dogs 5 years ago and instituted a management system and it is really paying off now.
I saw an exceptional bucks rack in the back of a guy's pickup last week. Tremendous 10 point. May be the best rack I have seen in over 35 years of deer hunting. He cut the rack off with a meat saw............made me sick...........
