N.W. Florida early rut?
Went to my hunting cabin this morning. Found where apparently a buck had torn up the ground near a feeder and a few feet from some doe droppin's. The days seem really short and we've had this 30's cold snap. Rekon Walton County won't have to wait till January for the rut to set in? Thats one thing I want for Christmas, an early rut.[8D]

Don't bet on it. Ihave seen a few chasin as early as Christmas in the past but most time it middle of January to first of Febuary. I'm counting on middle of January cause season in Ga. will end on the 11 and i have vacation starting on the 16th.

And over here in eastern Wakulla county the rut is pretty much finished. I believe florida is about the only state where the rut can vary by as much as 5 months from one end of the state to the other.
