Question for kentucky hunters
I heard a rumor that tennessee would use kentuckys buck rule next year in that you have to kill two does before you can kill a buck. Before I comment further on this would someone tell me if that is truly the rule in ky.

RE: Question for kentucky hunters
The rule in KY is for different Zones:
Entire state (All zones): 1 buck Zone 1 (I just hunted) 1 buck (as above) 1 doe. Unlimited does on doe tags I shot 4 deer this week as follows: 1 buck 1 doe Bought another doe tag and shot two more. Ken |
RE: Question for kentucky hunters
The rules are: on an adult tag you automatically buy a buck and doe tag
zone 1-1 buck unlimited doe tags zone 2-1 buck 3 doe (you can buy two extra doe tags) zone 3-1 buck 1 doe zone 4-1 buck 1 doe *****zones 3 and 4 have certain times that are buck only******** You dont have to kill any does if you dont want to, i havent heard of the two does before a buck rule |
RE: Question for kentucky hunters
the kill a doe thing is not a ky requirement. it could however be a requirement at a club or lease by hunters trying to manage the deer herd in their area.
ky has no antler restrictions, with the exception of wildlife management areas, and some military reservations..... i wish the entire state would go to an antler restriction, like the visible point rule...... you can kill more than one buck in ky, but you can only kill one on your state tags. you can kill additional bucks on quota hunts, or at land between the lakes......but only one quota hunt per year on ky dept fish and wildlife areas.... |
