Hi guys first post on the forum and I have a few questions. Spent most of my life buggy hunting and running dogs now strictly still hunting. I’m on a 4000+ acre lease in clinch county ga. I know clinch is known for dog hunting but we are lucky as there are not many surrounding dog clubs. Land is mostly pine rows some swamp and bottoms with some sparse oak hammocks. We have hog and deer and the last few years the hog pop had been on a decline which I’m not complaining about. The local berry and peanut farmers have been putting a hurting on them. So I have been doing the easy route with throwing up a feeder stacked with corn throw up a camera and a stand and sit and wait. The deer here are smart and I’m trying to come up with ways to improve the frequency in which deer return to my feeder areas. I have hung drips and tried mocks scrapes. With little to no success in getting deer to return frequently. So what else could I try besides what I have already done. Been reading up on creating mineral sites with home made mixes. I know deer travel a lot and a deers habitat usually encompasses 1sq mile or 634 acres. I’ll get some nice bucks on camera for a few days straight and then never see them again.
