Hello all! I am considering a position at Valley health in Winchester Va. Can anyone tell me about Winchester VA and how the hunting opportunities are in the area? Is it a good location for the outdoors enthusiast?

Winchester is a nice location, in the NW section of Virginia. If you go east just a little bit, you'll be in Clarke Co and Loudon Co which are always loaded with deer. You'd have to knock on a few doors to find a place to hunt though, as it's all 100% private land. If you go south past Front Royal, you're at the start of the Blue Ridge Mts and Skyline Drive. Warren Co and Shenandoah Co. Wide open places, the National Forest, etc... and lots and lots of hunting opportunities. Be prepared to walk, as the National Forest is massive, and you could go so far deep in the GWNF, that you'll never stumble upon another hunter!
