Ok guys I've never been there before and it's the last week...

Questions

Is the gate manned? If not do i just drive out with my deer without checking it out with someone?

I don't see any archery ...is there an archery season there sometime?

Any ticks or snakes?

Is there a store nearby that sells ice?

I do have 4 wheel drive but still like the easy roads..what are the roads like...

What is the terrain like...pines , bayheads, hammocks, swamps, palmetto fields shrub oaks?

Is there areas that would be a total waste of time?

I plan to arrive about 6:15 AM. Still hunt/ scout and than get in an evening stand hunt...I've never hunted it before and would like to begin..not sure what day i will hunt...probably tuesday or wed.

I am the woods, would you like to meet me out there Friday? I plan to hunt 3 lakes Tuesday and possibly Wed....i usually need a day to recover..hunting flat out wears me out...

If not..i found me a spot to try...with the help of my friend.

Yea we could pry do that around 1130 or noon or so i will pry stay up in the trees till bout 10:30 anyway...ya gonna be huntin north or south of the river?

To be honest..i'm kind of out of shape...i hunted my butt off today and think I'm done till Sat..lGreenswampman printed me out a friend quota...and his spot is a 45 min. Walk..yikes...i do appreciate the info from everyone and I Am The Woods wanting to meet up...my next hunt will be the Green Swamp...going with a friend...big hike...lots of water)-;

Aight...no prob...im gonna give Croom a hard go thurs. n fri. then its gonna be swamp time...dont feel bad imma be in for a long hike come Saturday as well...gonna try to be one of the first ones in the gate at Green Swamp i already know theres gonna be a lotta folks out there

I won't be doing the river hunt sir...i will be sitting in thick hardwoods....if I go..where a friend guided me...

Why i said north or south of the river is because Croom is divided by the river....there is a north section n south section...i wil be in the southen section...

Ok...sorry bout that...If i go..i was planning to hunt the north section..

I plan to be there tomorrow...going by my internal/eternal ..unctions..( -; hasn't failed me yet..

Let me tell you all a testimony about one of those unctions..Back in 2005 I was just learning how to hunt FL..first year on my
own IN FLORIDA....I had
driven up 3 mile road..or tanic which ever it is..I was late and it was already daylight..started walking and the water and
terrain was killing my 19.95 Walmart boots..I was sweating and bleeding from all the briars..I stopped and prayed.."Lord, you
know where all the game is..please show me where the hogs are." In my heart He answered...go back to the truck, drive up
Powder grade, go one mile, walk across the field and go to the firebreak..walk 70 steps and there is your hog." OK I'm learning
the voice of God, sometimes I'm on and sometimes I'm not..BUT in faith I obeyed...I got in my truck, drove down Powder...by
the way, that firebreak is the Sumter COunty line..I walked across the field and got on the firebreak and started counting..The
devil is laughing...saying, "You know there won't be nothing at the 70th step." ..but I've been following Christ Jesus since
1975 of Oct. where I had obeyed a still small voice..If you haven't already ..check out the link on my signature..anyways...I kept
walking 60, 61, 62, 63 , 64 , 65. 66, 67, ..Devil's saying "See absolutely nothing." then deep in my heart the Lord said."YOu
haven't reached 70 yet." so I started counting again..68, 69, 70 ALL OF A SUDDEN the fence row came alive with HOGS..I was
armed with my grandfather's Ithica and 2 3/4 00 buckshot..I quickly got off a shot..not bragging but the best shot in my
battalion in the army and fastest runner...The hogs kept running..I knew I hit the sow..I looked in the palmetto field to my
left..and the sow was just standing there ..wounded..I put a slug in the chamber and completed the job...I was rejoicing of
course...a sign from God to increase my faith and to glorify Him..When I processed the hog.I had hit exactly where I
aimed...I blew three ribs out with the 00 buck...I learned..those hogs call for serious fire power..they go down hard...and aim for
the head..not the meat.LOL

NOTE####I' ve upgraded to an 870 Magnum Remington..LOL and gained a few pounds as well....{-; actually this is my turkey gun..for hogs I use a 270 ..see pic below..that was done with a 270..
