Thanks a bunch for your recovery efforts Saturday. The father and son are my buddy and his 15 year old. I was supposed to go with them but had to cancel. I appreciate your dedication to the outdoors. Good luck.

How are the hog populations looking? I'll be headed home in 2 weeks and I am ready to get back out in the swamp

Was in GS yesterday checking cams - saw they had 12 deer for the season on the 471 side. Anyone having luck out there? Seeing any chasing or signs the rut is starting up? Seeing anything at all? I haven't seen a deer during shooting hours in GS so far this season.

I don't remember the exact # but I want to say it was 28 or somewhere around there.

As of today 12 deer n 32 hogs outta 471 side...it has been slow i have spent a lotta time n the stand only to see a few does n an otter...yesterday i was on my way to a spot i found and hadda boar hog in the neighborhood of 300 lbs. charge at me...i threw my climber at him n fired off 2 shots off to my side to get him away from me...didnt try shootin him...was no way i coulda dragged him out by myself nearly 3 miles...think he was bein territorial there were some other hogs n the bayhead i heard but didnt getta look at em...definitely a heart pumpin situation...

Wow, I would have had to check my pants after that. Think I would have shot him though if I could've and called a buddy - that's a lot of meat.

The only deer I seen was a doe during bow season. I got a 130lbs sow yesterday with my son.
