When does VA squirrel begin?

The VA dept of game and inland bla bla bla says the general firearms season starts September 6. Thats not for the entire state is it? Usually it is the middle of Oct. except for certain counties.

My favorite is baked in a covered clay pot with about 3 heads of garlic per squirrel and some olive oil. Unfortunately, only my brother and I can handle that much garlic. Ill throw a potaoe in if I can' t get 2 tree rats per person.
