Saw a bunch of chasing this weekend... All in all on Saturday night i saw 5 different bucks chasing. Most were 2.5 yr olds, there was one shooter 10 pt that was chasing but i never could get a shot off with my bow. However it was just chasing, there might have been one hot doe in the area, and set everyone in a tizzy. Most of the does were not in heat and the bucks would just stomping and chasing for a little bit then move on to the next one and so forth. My guess on Saturday night was we are few days away from a complete outbreak.. My guess would be to hit the woods starting wednesday, im gonna take the rest of the week off and get after them...

Rut is def. in full swing down in the Northern Neck, I shot a nice 8 pointer yesterday morning that was chasing a doe. I will post pictures later. I also saw three other different chases yesterday.

Just in time for opening day of rifle season.

I'm taking somebody on their first deer hunt Saturday. He hasn't even killed a squirrel before. I'm hoping he shoots a doe and I shoot the big 8 pointer I've seen twice during bow season.

Was out this afternoon in Prince William County.

Scared up a bunch of does walking to my stand. Passed two rubs, 3 scrapes (one stunk) and a licking branch. Saw a 6 pointer come on down and scraped some more - but didn't take the shot. He was just out of my line (5 more feet to the right and he'd have been mine)
