Looking to move to NC.
 

Well with the market the way it is , my wife and I are looking to buy a place in NC. If anyone can start me in the right direction we would appreciate it. Northern, Southern part, County or even Townships.

Here's what we're looking for

We both like the beach and fishing so close to the Atlantic would be a plus.

Naturally I would love to be an hour or less from Public Land for deer.
Needs to be min of half acre up to what ever we could afford, the more the merrier. I'd like to keep it under 300.

Stores and Hosp/Dr nearby also.

Wilmington area maybe if you like fishing and beach, I live up in the mountains and wouldn't trade this area for anything. Hunting, fishing, not alot of traffic lol good paying job I couldn't ask for much more :wave:

Put yourself in the middle near uwharrie national forest. Then you will be under 2 hours to either the beach or the mountains.

the triangle would be a good place.

Falls lake game lands
Duke, Chapel Hill tertiary care centers and lots of others like Wake Med and Rex
Couple hrs from the beach.
Property in the surrounding counties is relatively cheap if you can commute.
Relatively good job market compared to the rest of the country.

Jersey...Are you planning to work or are you retired???

I grew up about an hour from the Outer Banks and live near Greensboro now...In the meantime, I called on Deere dealers so there isn't much of the State I haven't at least spent the night in or been through...

But as you know, a fellow has to have money to play...Farm land in the east is still relatively cheap...While with Deere plenty of folks from up north would sell their house and have enough left over for a small farm down here...

Sorry NChawkeye I'll be semi retire working only to occupy my time and maybe a little spending $. My wife says I'm semi retired since wegot married LOL. What is or do you mean by Deere?

As in John Deere, the farm equipment mfg in Moline, Il...

Asheboro or Seagrove, NC is good spots.
For the Wife,
Asheboro, you have the http://nczoo.org/
Seagrove, you have all kinds of pottery.
For you, a ton of public hunting land.
Both are within driving range, of the Mountains, or The coast.
Both are close to major cities.

Another vote for the triangle area. 2 hours to the mountains, 2 hours to the beach, minutes to shopping malls. Lakes and game lands close by.
