Coyote in NC

I'm going to be taking the hunting class in March.
Haven't hunted since I was a kid and I'm looking forward to it.

Seems like all the seasons will be up by then except Coyote.

Anyone hunt for coyote in and around the central part of the state?
Any advice?

Thanks in advance.

I think there are places where you can hunt feral hogs too.

Turkey in April? Am I wrong about that?

Not sure.

I am from Sampson County NC myself and I'll be watching this thread. I did not know there were enough Coyotes in NC to make hunting them worthwhile.

Hope I am wrong. I'd love a reason to pick up a little varmint rifle.

I'm watching this thread.

I live in Seagrove NC
Coyotes are in NC big time.
They are all over the place, in Pisgah, and Seagrove NC
On public hunting land, they have followed me around.
I would look behind me, and they would take off.
By the time I saw them, it was to late to shoot them.
I am planning on hunting them.
I have even seen them on the side of HWY 220 South, going to Troy, NC

I think there more around the sandhills area but they are scattered throughout the state. Im in the northeastern corner of the peidmont right on the VA border and we are seeing more every year.

Coyote were confirmed in every county in NC about 6 years ago. If you don't see any, they are there. If you see a few, you are over populated.

I live in Va. right on the N.C. line ('bout a half a mile away) so I hunt both states.Have been seeing and killing 'yotes in Pittsyvania,Halifax,Henry,Countys in Va. and Caswell,Person,Rockingham, countys in N.C. The population is growing quite fast.A couple of years ago they had a bounty on them but there is so many the amount and countys go up and down like the stock market.........LOL. Saw a couple in town here (Danville Va.) also here them close by from time to time .If I see one close ,might just have to bend the law a little, can't have one getting my little minni weenie dog.Saw one the other day that was almost entirely black .First one I have seen colored up like that.Shot one last year with a shotgun while hunting in Halifax County in Va.Got 50 bucks and got to keep the dog.Big gyp dog made a great looking mount.Thinking about buying a light and a squealing rabbit cassette and putting some smoke on some .
