Sounds good Rick. I have every other weekend off due to my work schedule. I am off the weekend of January 16th and 30th if anyone likes those dates. Like I said, I can do Saturdays or Sundays. I would prefer Sundays but I am flexible.

LET me know guys. We could really cover a lot of ground and make some great discoveries in scouting by finding the sheds and buck beds.

Sundays work better for me also..I would love to go walk around and cover some ground. I found some sheds this past monday actually, nice 9 point! I talked to the guy at the checkstation, he said that 3 others also came in that day.

David and Rick, lets get our schedules hashed out and head out in the next month or so. I have some places in mind and am also willing to head into some areas that you all want to scout. I love learning new places on Q.

Seems some of bucks are shedding early this year. I killed a buck in the mountains, which I thought was a doe, Tuesday that had shed. My son killed a 7 pt at AP Hill same day that dropped an antler when it fell. Check station people there said some antlerless bucks are being check in there too. Just seems early.

We can concentrate on a small section of an area if you all like....maybe 50-100 acres or so.

How does this Sunday sound guys? If not this Sunday, maybe Saturday/Sunday the 19th or 20th of January? We could possibly meet up around 9am and go to around 12pm or 1pm or so, so that we can get home to our families? Let me know what dates and times look good to you all. I have another guy that might be interested in shed hunting/scouting with us. He is a Marine on base and is a good guy.

I def can't do tmrw. but later on in the month sounds good. anyone have any luck today?

I am heading out to scout hard tomorrow in the snow. It should be freezing but the pay-off in terms of gaining some useful info should equal out.

I know it's a little late but if anyone is interested or needs a DMA map of an area on Quantico send me a PM with an email and I'll send it to you.

It makes scouting a lot easier and makes for great notes for next year.

I would have offered them sooner but I didnt get them scanned until today.

Any of yall have any luck finding sheds? I want to go out and look but I'm not quite sure if they have dropped them yet

when i used to live in safford i posted on here that id like to ask others to shed hunt that area with me but the usual response was no thanks id rather find the antlers attached to live heads i always took that pesponse to mean they would rather talk about the outdoors then be in it .im glad to see yall making plans to go i hope you find a ton my best yr in stafford i found 57 .id tell yall some of my spots but i make a trip or 2 back each year to look myself. make sure yall post picts and leave 1 or 2 for me please

I haven't found a shed yet but I really haven't been looking. I have really just been scouting. :) But I will get back at the shed hunting this week. It is a lot of fun even though I am not good at it.

My son and I went out Saturday on Quantico. We spent 3hrs out there and found none.but did very good on scouting. the snow makes for easy tracking and more fun for the son. Still have hopes that we will find some.

Hoyt--right now the game check is open for small game hunting, which means you can scout or hunt every day. After January 31st I believe, the game check and ALL scouting will close down to turkey season. That is why I have already scouted so much already. I plan on getting out there another 4-5 times this month.
