VA Farm Help!

Hey Guys,

I just got permission to put in food plots at one of my private land hunting spots. It is in Loudoun County right on the Cotoctin River. Does anyone know where I can find some help to Bush Hog and prepare a field for planting. I just need the fieldturned over and prepared to plant. Ihave an ATV with a spreader for lime/fertilizer/seeding. I can alsodragthe field after I seed with the ATV.I am willing to pay a farmer or anyone that can help me.

Sounds like a great spot Mike. I will ask my buddy. He has a lot of equipment and might be willing to help.

What do you plan to plant???

If you go with Ladino clover, you can just spray Roundup, lime and fertilize and plant...

In the fall if you want to add winter wheat or rye use a no-till drill and plant right in the clover...

A clover plot will last 5 years or so and you just need to cut 4-5 times a year for weed control...

I will let him know Mike. Take care. He is a good guy, a public school teacher and is honest as can be.
