Coyotes

Well folks its confirmed by me!
They are here in Eastern NC. A pack of at least 8 was seen tonight.
Now that explains the missing deer for the last week.
From what I understand if they are here the deer will leave until the threat is gone. I am not sue about that.
But I am sure 10 - 12 deereveryday now, I haven't seen even a sign of deer on 400 acres in over a week.
Guess I will be coyote hunting next......got any tips?

they been in eastern NC longer than that.....dont worry, if it is like MOST of eastern NC....IF theyre hurting your deer numbers...you only have twice the number of deer your supposed to have around rather than 3 times...................j/k.....doubt theyll hurt the deer population too much....havent around here and we got a lot of em

coyotes don't hurt deer numbers down here at all. They do keep the rabbit and turkey numbers down a bit, though. I really don't see a coyote killing a healthy deer unless it's in deep snow or something.

Virgina has a $75 bounty on them from what I'm told. Here in Halifax county NC we have a bunch. Our deer dogs will run them and we see a bunch when we fox hunt.

$25 dollar bounty here in franklin county virginia, all countys vary on $,they have definetly lowered our turkey numbers, but our deer population is always on the rise.most are trapped or shot by deer hunters though.

So the way I get it is no worries the deer shouldn't leave my farm or te generalarea?
I got about 400 acres. About a 50/50 split with woods and farm land.
Just seems funny that I have not see a sign of deer almost two weeks now. And they have been here steady all year.
Not pressure only a select few hunt here. Maybe 10 hunts total in 2 months
