i posted in the hog forum but I know someof you don't go there,s o I'm posting here too, lol....






Fridays hunt:Yesterday was nice, cold as can be, but i finally made it to my creek stand on the north side...tried to get there a few times but i was always side tracked by hogs, so this time when i heard the hogs, I just kept on walking, lol....got off track 2 times, so I got to my stand just after daybreak...saw nothing but a racoon...it was sleeping in the tree in front of me, at first it just sat there looking at me , then decided it was ok and climbed to a Y in the tree and slept there all day...anyway, i didn't see a thing other than that and I was a lil concerned about losing my way on the way out, so I decided to slip out early just in case, lol...I heard pigs, so i stayed there for about 20 minutes listening, I finally saw them, a huge white one, couldn't get a shot on her/him...then i saw another one rooting, so i took my shot, it dropped, squealed and ran off I went to go look for it and I saw an ear on the other side of the creek as I'm looking at it, i can hear and see hogs scattering everywhere, must of been 15-20 of em , all 100lbs or more but the one lil itty bitty one...then i hear one crashing through , coming right at me, i had to shoot her too...I love my new 243, she dropped and died right there....so I doubled, first time ever...they weighed 106 lbs. and 104 lbs.
Thank God I have great friends....Jim came and helped me, i thought it was only a couple of hundred yds. from the parking area, it was more like 1,000, lol...he was hating me, lol...I told him I'd clean his house, buy him a case of beer and give him backstrap, lol....I owe him bigtime...on the way out, we got off the trail and the flashlight began failing, lol...we had to call Tom to come get us, lol...i owe him too...if it weren't for them , it would of been midnight before I got the hogs out, that is if i could of seen the trail with my lil itty bitty light, lol...note to self:bring bigger flashlight :gr The pics don't really show the size, but they were bigger than they looked.

Good deal,
I got me one too this morning..;)at 7:10 to be exact..with a 30-30.The Lord blessed me with a real good hook up..Also , remember the last post on here I wrote about the Lord telling me where to put my stand..the very first hunt I had 8 does directly under my stand.:)

Great looking hogs Huntnma..I let a couple monster hogs walk this morning..I was afraid to try at 100 yds with open sights..My friend is letting me use his scoped 30-06 tomorrow..I just got done grinding sausage..turned out real good..but I learned it's much tougher to grind than venison.

I met this man through his daughter..She's a new teacher and I had to train her for 1 week in my classroom.hunting came up..she made a phone call..and I'm in..thanks be to God.:)super duper nice man..property is near Disney. At 7:00AM I saw 2 huge hogs..too dark for my site..at 7:10 AM they came from everywhere...I was in a ground blind..I quickly aimed and fired..the hog spun around,,and ran off..[:o]and I was ticked that I never made a better shot..However;she ran and fell 10 yds in back of my blind..;)I'm glad..the stuff was so thick I may not have found her.None of the meat was hurt..a perfect lung shot..the 30-30 when exiting left a 6 inch hole.[:-]I use hollow points.

I felt led to be still in wait and I may get another hog..At..7:50 AM POW!! my friend got a nice hog..with a 270..He was 250 yds from me..He also saw 2 deer. He said when I fired my rifle the deer did not flench..[:-]

At 8;00 AM I saw the 2 giants come back ..they were broadside at about 90-100 yds..I was afraid to take the shot / with open sites..I was hoping they would come closer..the man said I should have shot ..but I was raised to only take sure shots..He said ,"Tomorrow you can use my 30-06 in you like ..it shoots 1/2 inch groups"..I said ok..:)This guy got a 1591/2 inch buck last year..from Texas...he's a real serious hunter ..and a real nice guy..My only price..is to buy him breakfast..;)I offered money a few times and he declined..

Your hogs look nice Huntnma..Mine was brown but his was black..

Congrats on your double..that size are fine eating..i have my two deer sonow i am looking to kill a young hog for sausage..we don't have a whole lot of hogs here in this part of central Fl..but i will get one i'm sure..
