VA Huntig Reg. Question
I have a question about a hunting regulation. This is my first year dear hunting in Virginia and want to make sure I'm reading the rules correct. I plan on hunting on the Powhatan WMA. I was looking thru the rule book and I'm some what confused.
The only days I can harvest a antlered dear (buck) is on 11/22, 11/29, or 12/29 - 1/3? All the other days I would have to take a antlerless dear (doe)? Once again this is for the Powhatan WMA for firearms season that opens on 11/15/08...
Or am I completly backwards and can only take does those days?
Please reply ASAP!

RE: VA Huntig Reg. Question
Firefighter194, The dates you listed are either sex dates, meaning you can legally take a deer of either sex. Also commonly called "doe" dates. The rest of the season is buck only. Good luck! I hunted in Chesterfield this weekend, but no luck. I rode over to Powhatan on Saturday after hunting the morning in Chesterfield. There were two many trucks parked in the areas I know so I went back to Chesterfield for the evening.
