he's almost done, i'm very pleased with the 8 pnt. so far....the 4 point i got had too much head trama so i had to cut the antlers off but i didn't know this until after he was done cooking, talk about nasty, Dear God, it was horrible...but with the 8,i was able to sew the broke antlers velvet and reattached the tine, it looks so good ...who knew i could sew, lol......i just have to let him sit for 4 days because of the tanning solution i put on the antlers, after that , I can find something to hang him off of...a old piece of crypress or cedar, something....
broken tine

sewing

finished sewing( the rip went along the main beam and up the tine)

there's no such thing as stupid question....Yes, I plan on putting him on a plaque or an old piece of wood....I thought a eruopean mount would be nice...
A friend of mine sent me a bottle of this velvet tanning solution, so i followed the directions and now I'm praying that i did it right....
I'll post a pic in a week or two when it's done....

ok..th eEuropean mount is the white skull..is this correct.?

Now if you was doing a regular mount, would you pull the entire skin off the skull as well. The reason I'm asking..a real nice fellow on here is sending me some taxidermy lessons..I would love to get into it.

yes, you are correct with the regular mounting ,they either pull it (the skin)or cut it....my sister has one that has stiching all along the back...he did a horrible stiching job, that is one reason why i was tickled with my sewing, lol...but to be honest,i really don't know how they do it...
