Hunting on Private Land in SC

I just bought a home in lancaster co, SC. It's on 5 acres and the seller tells me there are often deer and turkey on the property. I'm moving from CA, and I know that inthe area I'm in at least does not allow hunting of any kindon less than40 acres.Does anyone out there know the laws, or where to look for them, on hunting on private property in SC? I think on that small of an area I'd leave the deer alone, but archery hunting turkey seems reasonable for the space. I've looked at Lancasters muni code website and the sc.gov site but I'm not having much luck.

Thanks!
Jake

You are good to go with a rifle as long as you are not in the town limits and I belive at least 100yards or so from anyones house. call SC DNR to double check though.

There is a law on distance from a residence with a firearm (can't remember what the distance is) UNLESS the owner gives your permission.

Why are you moving?

There's plenty of deer and several months to hunt them in. It want hurt a thing to take a few off your property. More will come back if it is attractive to them. Our deer are used to living close to houses and some small tracks of land draw deer like a magnet. You might can enhance yours to be one of those.
