Big Buck found Dead on our Property in VA
 

Well, it was a sad sad weekfor mehunting in Central Va this week. We found a dead spike, and this deadHOSS on our property this week. Both should have been an obtainable find for whatever hunter shot them. We are thinking possible poachers on out food plots, as both were within 50 - 75 yards from the field. I have roughly scored him around 130. Im still sick to my stomach...

That hurts man........real bad. I hunt in Central VA (Fluvanna) too. I don't know if it will make you feel better but we have busted a few poachers this year and we have filed criminal complaintsand they are on the hook for a Class 1 misdemeanor.

cumberland county. it's the biggest deer we have ever seen "off the hoof" in the over 20 years we have hunted the property.i've never picked him up on a trail camera either.

Sorry to hear that--man I hate poachers! They drive up and down the national forest lands here in Manassas and shoot deer from their vehicles!

Sorry that the poachers got to that great buck. The poachers probably shot him and then were afraid to go get him.

Sorry to hear that some poacher got that awsome deer instead of you. It's nice to see a deer like that coming from our area of the state though and being on yourproperty has got to help you feel a little more confident about your future hunts. Best hope he passed those genes along before they got him.

BTW...I live right down the road from you in Powhatan and I hunt in Louisa.

Hummm, I hunt Louisa on a farm behind the house, we had someone kill a nice buck back there and leave it. We thought it was a poacher who shot and heard us coming. Must be a bigger central virginia issue.
