Sunday hunting
 

I am not sure if anyone has ever attacked the ban on Sunday hunting like this....doesn't no hunting on Sundays violate "equal protection" laws? For example, what if a guy worked Monday-Saturday and his only day off were Sunday to hunt? Doesn't banning hunting on Sundays unfairly hurt the working class hunters, many of whom have to work on Saturdays?

OMG.... Here we go...

I have been fanatical towards Sunday hunting in Virginia. I have been in the papers, I have met with the DGIF, and even spoken with members of the General Assembly.

Every few years, someone steps up to the plate to battle the asinine law on Sunday hunting and they earn their so called "notoriety"... But, in the long run, they don't get any farther than the previous guy tried before.

It's going to take an act of God, or some massive massive legislative work on the unconstitutionality of banning hunting on Sunday. We'd need the $$$$$ of the NRA or the ACLU and form an organization. Then try to enact a lawsuit against Virginia state code 29.1-521.

If you read some of the previous threads (last year about this time I think)on this topic you will know that you are not alone. My biggest point on Sunday hunting is about Blue Collar Workers who work on Saturday etc. I support Sunday Hunting whole heartedly. It will come to VA some day I suppose. We have drug this topic through the mud several times on this forum. Take care.

my thought is if we can't hunt on sunday ,why can we fish? its the dumbest law va. has.

I have to agree in my mind it is a form of discrimination since you can fish on Sundays walk in the state and federal properties on Sundays. But for some reason the mid atlantic area will not allow this.
