Virginia Deer Processors?
Are there any Deer Processors in Va? I see advertisements all the time on the web for ther states, but not in Va. Is there some kind of health regulation against commercial processing of wild game?

There's one in Amelia somewhere. Don't know names or addresses, but my buddy and his father take about 1 or 2 deer there a year. If you cut out the anal canal and gut them it's a lot cheaper. They'll make it in sausage, hamburger, and give you the tenderloin whole. No wasted meat they get everything and grind it up into all kinds of things and season it. It's really good.

Check your yellow pages...there are about 6 within 30 miles of me. Also look at the VA Hunters for the Hungry website. They listprocessors by the county who participate in the program. All of the ones on their list I'm familiar with also process deer for individuals.

Bull, i live in chesterfield and hunt powhatan, cfield, amelia, and cumberland. we take our deer to Mass Meats in Amelia if we dont do them ourselves. I think its around 60-65 if you get hamburger meat and sausage and tenderloin stakes.
