RE: SC Hunters
Right now our rut is really out of wack. I've seen over 20 does and not one buck behind any of them.
Talk to someone hunting 30 minutes away and they have bucks chasing does all day long. I think that this coming week should be the best. |
RE: SC Hunters
Steve,
I hate to say it, but the rut in the Lowcountry has already peaked, but you may catch some chasing does that didn't get bred the first time. |
RE: SC Hunters
Thanks for the info. I will hope for the best and enjoy the time either way.

RE: SC Hunters
Gallred,
That was not what I wanted to hear.:(You were supposed to say they are in FULL RUT.:DAnyways, thanks for the info. I will have a good time either way. Thanks, Steve |
RE: SC Hunters
That's right, they're still there you just have to pattern them a little different. I will tell you, that in my neck of the woods, the acorns are so thick that they're barely touching the corn and food plots. Good luck with your hunt.

RE: SC Hunters
We just started seeing bucks behind the does this week in upper Calhoun county. Looks like this cooler weather might bring it on.

RE: SC Hunters
Hey gallred,
you were right about the rut and the acorns. They were thick and I saw the fewest deer I have seen over the 3 years I have hunted there. Oh and you were right about catching one chasing a doe;) Steve |
RE: SC Hunters
I'm glad you were able to hook up. What part of the lowcountry were you hunting?
|
RE: SC Hunters
I think it is Barnwell County. I have more info on my hunt in the thread that reads SC buck!

RE: SC Hunters
I don' t mean to hijack your topic but, is anyone from the myrtle beach area? I'm coming down with the family in April. Hoping to find someone and someplace to hunt some wild pigs?
