LOL We met at the Green Swamp...I did better this morning..I heard nothing till 9:10 ..I happened to catch a beautiful tan deer hide reflecting the sun at about 40 yds ..It wasa doe and a young one. I watched them for 46 minutes. They stayed behind a cabbage palm..and would not offer me a shot. Chris and I found what looks like a decent spot for him next week..fresh wallows, and tracks.

I really enjoyed meeting Chris..he was a life saver..He brought ice cold Gatoraids and water..nice fellow..;)

I've been "known" to call hunting buddies cell phones when they're out in the woods :) I've got one buddy who consistently answers too!!! Guess he deserves that if he keeps his phone on hehehe

Same here Chris ...I learned alot from out hunt..

A. deer don't always make noise..the 2 deer I saw made zero noise so I've learnedto look harder and not always rely on sound.

B. I love hunting with a partner..I've always hunted alone.To be honest I would have left my stand at 9:00 and would have missed the sighting of the does..but Chris and I had commited ourselves to stay put to 10..plus he was bettr prepared and brought water..I honestly was beginning to feel dehydrated..

c. We also found anothergood spot..I diffently would not have done more scouting when I was finished hunting..I was exhausted from the hunt..A 2 1/4 mile walk through swamp is very tiring.

I'm looking forward toward next Sat. Chris..seeing deer pumps me up.;)

I forgot to tell you. But I think you got me back for calling. I am a little sore after a 2 1/2 mile hike to the hunting area and back. (-: I guess my muscles will be ready for next Saturday.

I always carry water especailly in Florida. I need to start carrying matches incase I have to spend the night out there.

I think scouting is one of myweaker areas. Maybe we can try to do some more scouting. I think to be sucessful you need to be in the best spot and that takes scouting. )-: I would rather be hunting, but I want to be sucessful too.

Well Chris,
Since next weekend is the final weekend.for archery.I would say it's too late to scout for archery.I beleive our spot is ok..I would chance that place out..Now after firearm you may want to scout somewhere else..Powder is full of signs but for me..just to big an area to cover unless you find a funnel type bayhead . 471 has the biggest harvest. Anywhere near the river in that area near Levee/ Tanic should be good..but most of the hunters on 471 hunt that area..I'm staying put.;)
