I forget the wind and just hunt. Not because i have scent blocker but because I just don't know how you could do it like they do on TV. You would sweat to death down here. I try to spray scent away on me and get 18 t0 25 feet in the tree when i hunt. Sure I have been busted but I have had them walk right in also, that is hunting. I would love to see one of those Drury boys come down here and do that scent block stuff they would be miserable in the stand.

My only bust I beleive is not being high enough in the tree. The hogs seemto be able to smell better than the deer.

Climb high, wear rubber boots,spraysome scent killer,and use a thermacell. I would really like to see someone in one of those 'scent blocker' suits down here!

Same here on the washand I buy mymilitary camo atthe Thrift Store or Army Surplus Store.

I wear 2 layers and one is my scentlok and I use my thermacell for the bugs. I have been blessed to not sweat too much. I sit 12ft up or on the ground and when I get busted it is usually movement not scent. I have hogs and deer come right under my stand. I guess I am not a stinky fellow:D

That's pretty darn good..I've been 14 foot up and seen the hair raise on asow's back as she neared my tree.I knew she smelled me.

I wouldn't say good, just blessed with not much stink. I get busted all the time by movement because "I got ants in my pants" I must have a little ADD[X(]I can sit all day, but I have to shift alot.

I was real depressed the first four weeks...Last SundayI was kind of bummed as I unlocked my classroom door to do my plans..then deep inside my heart I heard.."your not doing it for the principal...your doing it for me." and my depressinon left and has not returned. I still get tired of redirectiong kids but my peace and joy remains..I don't feel the dread and hopelessness. I thank God for that..I was actually considering quitting and being a janitor.:)

I am not real sure of the big scent bebate!If you bow hunt I see where distance is close but rifle hunting is where I'm lost.Cover all the scent you want with whatever but too many varitables to deal with,wind,breath color combinations,movement,other people...lots of things out of our control.A few years ago I read an article right before I left hunting about ulta-voilet light from blues and noise from different devices...and I shot a deer from a blue and silver Cummins Dodge a day later.I'm sure some of this stuffhelps but where does sales hype end and common sense take over? Just like gun and bow sales...gotta promote them but fact of the matter the most expensive isn't going to help if you can't hit the target.Where I hunt the landowner has killed the best deer for 2 years running on the land and he was sitting in a red pickup,belching,smoking,and cleaning beer bottles and trash out from the back from the bombfire site...not stealthy to say the least...1 deer scored 140, the next year a weird 16 point that was around 150 plus class!His case was pure and simple luck...both times! The shows where someone's sitting in a full camo blind with camo screen...and they are wearing camo and face mask.I wear a Carhart jacket and wranglers,and I eat deer meat every year,not antlers but the meat.I think the game managment has to do with the trophies more than the scent-free and camo concept.Just my 2 cents.Oh yeah I'm not going to sit down wind of a good bedding area after a night of chili or beans...I'm not completely crazy!

Almost completely agreed..except.

Idon't find in many states where shooting froma vehicle is legal..or many of us would be eatting more deer too. On private land back home...I killed deer in jeans as well.

However; hunting in a high pressured WMA..I findto be a different story.

I do agree that tons of companies are only out there to make money.I find it in the fishing and teaching world as well.

Yeah the vehichle thing affects alot of states,I'm in Texas so only place we can't shoot is from public road or across one.I'm a big fan of hygene and clean clothes if at all possible,sometimes during hunting camps that sorta gets forgot though.:D
