Please Help! Bought new Lab pup in SC, Help w/ Understanding Pedigree

Hello!
I am a new member to this forum but thought that it looked like a terrific place to find answers to my questions.

I recently purchased a male black English labrador (now 8 weeks old) out of the Lexington, SC area.I was wondering if anyone can tell me anything about his bloodlines and pedigree...I've dealt in horses my entire life but am just now entering the dog world and have no idea how to correctly interpret the information I recieved from the AKC papers.

His father's name is "Winston-Antony Surprise" from the Breeders Robert and Laura Hall. He weighs about 125+ lbs and his mother is "Sandylands Star Trend" weighing about 110+ lbs.

Attached is a link to pictures and a copy of his AKC papers for 4 generations on the Fathers side and a Copy of his mother's Pedigree.

Any information would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thank you,

k - pedigree means little to me unless your talking hunting. If that's your purpose, look for field trial champions or Grand Masters. English Labs generally don't hunt as well as American Labs but there are exceptions. If you are just looking for "bragging rights", best of luck. If you using your dog for it's bred purpose, I'll help where I can. I don't know a ton about pedigree but I do have a good friend that raises American Labs for hunting purposes and also trains them. If I can help, let me know.

My father has had a variety of English and American labs over the course of my youth so I am familiar with both. "Banks" is an English lab, and at 9 weeks (today) now weighs 13.5 lbs.We would be using the dog for hunting as we have several large properties that are used for hunting purposes. From what I understand, pedigree means nothing to the people with American labs (as I was 'told' on the other forum). I can understand this.

I was just hoping what the best route to take an English lab like him to his highest potential both as a pet and an accomplished hunting companion.

Thank you
