my first deer season consisted of a Chinese made SKS, open sights, its honestly VERY accurate for what it is. it held a 3" group at 100 yards open sight. so i cant complain about it. just gotta get the soft tip ammo.

In 1965, I purchased a semi-sporterized Mod 1891 Argentine mauser, 7.65 cal. I refinished the cut down militarystock with 12 coats of Lin Speed oil, knocked of the military sights, had the bolt bent and altered, receiver drilled and tapped for scope mounts, and mounted a 1X-4.5X Busnell banner scopeon the old mauser. I had a friend reload 174 gr Hornady RN bullets, sorry I don't remember the load now, but could shoot a 3 shot 1" group on most days. It was a shooter ! I traded iton a Mod 700 BDL 30:06 in 1974. I sometimes miss my first deer rifle. HH in Pa

Has anyone else used a yugo sks? I've got one in the pipeline, should be here in a few weeks. I got it for fun, but would hunt with it if it would perform.
