public areas for me: LBJ & Caddo National Grasslands, Corp of Engineer Lands/Whitney & Aquilla, Pay Mayse WMA & Corp of Engineers, Grayson County Corp of Engineers land, Lake Lavon, Lake Grapevine, Gus Engeling WMA on TWPD draw hunts.
There's alot more public land available one just has to spend the time to research where it is and scout it out!

I KNOW THAT THERE IS ALOT OF NEW PUBLIC PLACES OPENED UP. I HAVE BEEN IN THE WHITNEY AREA AND SAW A FEW DEER. I HAVE BEEN HUNTING IN MEXICO BUT SINCE EVERYTHING IS GOING ON DOWN THERE I DIDN'T REALLY WANT TO GO BACK. SO JUST LOOKING FOR A LARGE RANCH UP HERE TO HUNT AT. BUT THE PUBLIC GROUND IS A GOOD PLACE THAT I DIDN'T THINK ABOUT

Just completed my first ever whitetail hunt in Mason. Took a small buck and a nice doe, can't wait for the meat. My buddy took a nice 6-pt.
