I smoke a big buck last weekhere in sw va and to my supprisethere was no sign of the rut on him and very few scrapesor rub. Everybody been talking that the rut has started but I have seen no signof it this is in lee county

I've been seeing lots of scrapes and rubs in Russell and Craig counties. I saw a buck chasing a doe the other evening at dark and he was grunting. Also, my brother heard a buck chasing a doe and grunting last week. If the weather will turn colder it should really kick things into high gear. Come on 45 degree highs!

It has started in Patrick Co. I killed a small 8 pointer Sat opening day of muzzleloader. He was chasing a doe. I think the cold spell we had last week triggered the Rut a little early usually it is about the 15 th of Nov.

It's coming on now. Pre-rut has been in for maybe a week in Northern VA. I've seen bucks chasing but no breeding. My guess is bucks will be rutting w/in the next half week up this way.

sounds about right....I wanted to go hunting today but temps over 70???!!! Gonna try tomorrow afternoon and possibly sat as well......just bought the M.A.D growler from bass pro and going to give that an rattling a try.....good luck with that 12 point you saw earlier!!
