VA June 2007 Squirrel season
 
I see at the VDGIF website that there will be a 6/2/07-6/23/07 squirrel season at some WMA. What's up with that?

I think it is a test run to try and thin out the populations, and try and generate some additional interest in hunting. I remember reading somewhere that if it works they may go statewide with it.

Haven't seen that yet. I'll check it out, but I do think squirrel season starts earlier this year.

Also this year you can hunt does into february in loudon county and a couple others.

geeze who wants to be huntin squirrels in the hot june weather. not me ill tag them lil tree huggers in the fall though
