wnc here live in swannanoa area and love to hunt in the mountians no pics the wife's camera broke last time she took a pic of a bear i shot (i know there is a redneck joke on this one)

I'm originally from Clinton in Sampson County, but have settled in with the family in Asheboro (Randolph County). Here's a pic of me and my little girl with the buck I got last year in Moore County. I also have a 10 week old son.

nctaxi, the deerhuntn in randleman is very good my uncle was givin my great grandpas old dairy farm it has like 5 fields(gardens) on it a stream and creek run thru it plenty of good stand locations. it hasn't been hunted in over 30 yrs until i came along.:D some neighbors saw a 17pt outside of the cornfield. i hunt the peapatch bout an acre shot my first deer there last year a big doe came walking right up. a guy that went hunting w/me killed a 11pt. the deer ratio has to be very high ive saw herds at a time come walking right thru they have a REGULAR bedding are because they never been hunted but boy they are scared of hunters i was scouting last tuesday(was bored) and I jumped one literally 3 foot from me i was in brush up to my neck it didnt know i was there, alot of the older bucks come out at night but they slipped up for jeff that 11 came right out before dark I now get it to myself lol my uncle had some boys tear up his gardens on 4 wheelers so he is putting up no tresspassing signs. so the only ppl who can hunt have to be with me. lol I'll try to get a picture of me on here dunno how to tho

Alright, I quit![:@]All yall are way younger than me. This past duck season, I hunted with two guys who's age added up to close to mine.Must be getting older or you guys are getting younger.

thats a heck of a nice deer nctaxi i know these guys are getting younger but its nice to see. seems everytime i see another hunter in the woods i am still waiting to find someone my age:eek:

I am from Roanoke Rapids in Halifax county. Thanks to Randy Parton and the Carolina Cross roads project it looks like we might loose about 580 acres of our hunting land. 580 acres of the best Turkey land in NC. The price we pay for progress.

I live in the southeastern part of the state in Robeson county in a small farming community called Orrum.

I am looking to move to the Charlotte area. I would like to find around 50 plus acres to buy for hunting. Finding land for sale online is really difficult to say the least. Do any of you folks have some good sources to find land for sale?

Angier, NC...Hunt in Wake and Duplin counties. Got a nice lease near RDU airport that has a LOT of deer in it, some are very nice bucks. Hoping to take my 5yo daughter out with me a couple times this year. She seems to be interested in hunting and has no trouble with dead critters. She started fishing this summer, and is hooked! She wants me to take her every day now. Too bad I have to work, or I might take her up on that!

Franklinton NC central part of the state close to Falls lake area.Lots of good fishing and hunting.Do alot of deer hunting and noe trying out bear hunting in our great state

I live just outside Raleigh but hunt in Nash,Johnston and Wilson counties. Haven't been able to lock on to a spot here in Wake county. I'm originally from Nash county.

I lived in Jacksonville for over 2 years and my son was born there. It was nice and my wife and I have talked about retiring up there one day. Is hunting still closed on Sunday?

Yea, Sunday is still closed, I wished they would change that so after church I can go in the evening. there is still great hunting here. The owner of the neighboring farm said he saw a 17pt. with a huge spread. lol hoping to get that this comin season.

I live right on the line in Chesapeake, VAso I'm from VA. But I've been hunting in GatesCounty and Southside for several years. My oldest son lives with his mom in Moyock, N.C. which is only about 20 miles from me and we love to hunt out there as well. I love to still hunt with my bow and muzzleloader but when shotgun season is in we like to turn 'em out (the hounds that is). When the tailgate drops the B.S stops. I'm sure somebody is with me on this. And Im sure somebody isn't too.Such is life.

I have some buddies I hunt with at Sandbanks & Gates County Hunt Club.
I alsohunt at SouthsidHunt Club but thats not inGates.

L.E. is my brothers father in law...Lives near Tar Heel bbq...I cringed when I saw you hunted in Gates...we have had problems with Sunbury, Corapeake and Water Swamp...Its a pain to try to still hunt with those guys dropping deer dogs out by your property, so they can run to their property...but...We have never had a problem with Gates and Sand Banks...I grew up in Sunbury and we own farms near both Sunbury and Gatesville...

Yeah, I know what you mean because I love to stillhunt too. Most of the guys I have experience with out there respect the landowners and try to work with them. But there are some bad ones in every bunch. Ever heard of Old Buck? I don't know if there still around. They used to have some nice land and would let me and some buddies on occasionally. But they were not really my type of club. How about e-mailing me a large BBQ sandwich and some hot sauce from Tarheel!! That is a beautiful stretch of land over there and you guys are lucky to have those farms. My father and I have a small farm(90 acres) in VA out past Southhampton and about 20 acres in Chesapeake. Carolina is great though, the out of state license is a little steep but it's worth it. I wish it came with a bear stamp.

Yep. Just so happens I'm from Fayetteville.I missed the last 2 deer seasons, and will miss a good portion of the 06 season. I'm working in Iraq right now, but hope to be homeby the end of Oct. I'm ready to spend some quality time with the family and find another job. I hope everyone has a productive season. Stay safe.
