live in tn and if you are looking for trophy class deer then middle to western tn is your best bet...east tn isnt a trophy producing area....western tn close to ky is your best bet.

Hey i hunt in tipton and Lauderdale counties.Yup i have had some success. I pick ones i want and let others go. Been here 2 years took an 8 pt. 130 class a 5 pt. cull and decent 6 pt. 100 class. Have saw bigger just too far or couldn't make clean kill.:D

The deer herds improving every year since they put some limits on the bucks. We're seeing trophy size deer. We still to kill more does to improve in my area and you can kill 3 a day for about 3-1/2 months.

Yup hunting fer deer is improving. I just take Bucks i want, no need to shoot every thing. Have plenty of Doe's fer freezer meat. I can pick and choose now. Thats why i took one nice 8 pt. 1st year and 2nd. year took a cull and then a very nice 6 pt. I let 4 or 5 Bucks go. I like hunting like that.:)

A friend of mine bought 200+ acres in Marion County, Whitwell Mtn., last year. We hunted it a couple of times with no luck. The last time, we saw some deer, but no size to them. We found a lot of scrapes and rubs. We will hunt it more this year. Being from Georgia, we have to get used to the funny season and rules up there.

Anybody hunted around that area with any luck?

3 tracks of managed property available for lease in Fayette and Haldamen counties. One tract borders AMES and 2 other tracts are within 5 minutes of AMES Plantation. All tracts have lots of mature hardwoods and have great property borders. This is for serious respectful hunters only. Trophy rules and penalties do apply. Send PM if interested include your email address and phone number.

Thanks,
Joe

Feeling good about TN Deer population this year and beyond. as long as we keep our liberal laws in place the deer can only get bigger. See my post in the Deer Forum with pics of the bucks we have grown in the past three years. I live in Maury County and have had great successin the past few years. Always looking to swap hunts as well.
