Picky Deer or just smart?

Its like this, I did some clearing across my swamp 2 1/2 weeks ago, just enough for a climber and 2 short lanes. 1 lane about 60 yds. long and 15' wide the other about 80 yds and 15'wide. I cut them where I found alot of paths intersecting made by the deer and near alot of oaks. Placed a mineral block topped w/molassaes, 60 lbs. corn and about 10 lbs granny smith apples. There hasn't been one apple touched nor the corn. But, the block has 3 pretty deep scratches on the top, sorta looks like a bobcat claw mark or something close to a medium to small build cat. Did I run them out? Or just to much food on the ground? Any hoot, its the apples that has me baffled. On the norm' they would tear those babies up. Whats up with all this, anybody know?

Give them some time. Unless they are use to corn and apples for their food it may take several weeks for them to take to them. If there is plenty of natural food in the area, acorns, honeysuckle, briars, etc they may prefer the natural food.

From all the activity around my swamp, somebody in and out, trapping and killing my beavers, it could have had something to do with it, you think?
