ok in wnc the deer season ended sat so what did everyone get this year i know that the second section on bear season started this week but i can sit that one out this year i got a nice 8 point not a big deer but a nice size one for the mountians and during the first section of bear season i got a 300lb+ bear so from now on i am going to see if i can get back at the tree rats that gave me a fit during the deer season:D

I killed a decent 8 point with my bow, first bowkill. Also killed a nice 8 Tuesday before Thanksgiving, my best buck ever. Also killed a coon, 2 does, and a grouse with my bow.

Wholelotta...have you seen many Grouse over in that part of the world? I wanna load my dog up and see if I could hunt up a few Grouse.....Any idea were to go? Thanks in advance

I don't know much about grouse hunting sorry to say. Most of my buddies have got a tail or two hanging on the wall so when one flew into a tree 25 yards from me when I was walking up to a doe I just shot with the Parker, I nocked another arrow and let it have it. I do see them occasionally though, usually flying away lol. I don't know what is a good population measure, but I deer and turkey hunt so Im in the woods 5 months a year + scouting and maybe see a dozen grouse a year. Im sure you could kill a couple up here though if you know where to look, becase I don't.

one 6pt. on Nov. 5th around noon and one main frame 9pt. with 2 extra kickers on Nov. 19th @ 5:25pm.

Im outside of Boone towards Tennessee in Watauga County. It's beautful up here. I hunt on my best friends farm mostly.
