Louisiana deer

Any of you La hunters seen as many fawns this late in the year? I was bowhunting Tues & watched a pair for a couple of hours. Plenty of spots & stil had some stripes. Both were bigger than some deer I've shot in the past (strictly a meat hunter). Lots of fun watching them.

This year we're seeing lots more fawns thaan ever before & much later than usual. Spots in Oct are a rarity in my experience, but we also saw tracks of newborns in Sept. The ones we see are all in great shape.

All we need is some cold weather this season.

Yankeeclipper,

I made my first bowhunt this past Saturday and I saw a fawn with spots still on it. It was a good size deer. It was with another deer and together the deer were similiar in size and weight. The fawn was just a little smaller. It was kind of neat watching the fawn.
