Va Hunters Roll Call!! Ready for Backstraps?

Here, here. I'm awake now! Been in the woods two of the last three days squirrel hunting/deer scouting. Got my first black fox squirrel the other day. Found lots of acorns, and today found a skull from last years four-pointer. It's a shame he didn't make it through. I walked up the hollow where I found him last year after rifle season. So, he must have bit the ML bullet. Good Luck to all this season!

Get Ready for a Wild Ride! 2006 Farmers’ Almanac Predicts aPolar Coaster Winter
LEWISTON, ME: “Mother Nature seems to be in the mood for some amusement,” states Peter Geiger, Philom., Editor of the 2006 Farmers’ Almanac. The 189-year-old publication, which has an uncanny ability to predict long-range weather with amazing accuracy, reveals a forecast that has so many ups and downs on the thermometer that many may be reminded of riding a roller, or as the Farmers’ Almanac puts it, “Polar Coaster.”

"The East is on tap for a crazy ride, with the temperatures and weather initially leading into the winter season seeming mild, but the bulk of the winter will turn out to be unusually cold, with plenty of snow especially in the northern sections,” reveals Sandi Duncan, Philom, Managing Editor. The Farmers’ Almanac, which accurately predicted the hot, humid summer, is forecasting a more amusing winter in the West, with an overall warmer winter prediction, but with a fair share of snow and cold periods in the country’s midsections.

Ready & waiting for bow opener in Prince William Co. Got a huge 8 and a monster 10 on the family farm in PWC that I'm targeting this year. Be nice to have one of them under my belt. Man they are big, real big.

I'm ready for our shotgun season to start in Suffolk on Oct. 1. Got my scouting done and tree stand will be up by Saturday. I'm also doing the Dismal Swamp Deer Hunt again. It's going to be real hot. Got my Thermacell for the mosquito's that are big as birds.

I live in Portsmouth, hunt in S. hampton county, Greensville couty and a VERY small place in Suffolk. The only reason I am going to hunt in Suffolk is to get home at a reasonable time in the afternoons for the early season.;)

warm here in the northern part of the state, but that won't stop me from going out. I am probably NOT going out opening morning, but that can change with the churning in my stomach (excitement). Hoping to save those vacation hours for later in the month. I've seen a really really nice eight that I hope to take opening day, and have been doing alot of dove hunting. I'll post here if I shoot something decent, or memorable.

I'm here! Acorns are so thick it's like walking on gravel and the Kentucky elk have wandered across the border(1/2 mile) and mowed my food plots to the dirt. I am re-seeding tomorow in hopes of keeping the around.

What processor do you take your deer to? What kind of meat do you get and what are the prices? Manassas Frozen Foods is the closest to where I hunt.

I'm here and ready to roll.......Ive had my entire setup re-built on my high country. Ive been shooting tacks. I have a really nice double blind setup in the middle of a cutover very close to a swamp. A ladder stand on the corner of another cutover bordering a swamp and of course my climber. Everything is ready to rock!!!
