Va. hunters word of warning!

Nothing serious, but did you know you have to sign the back of your Big Game license? I have hunted Va. for 35+ years and had never signed it, I always just signed the back of the small game, archery and black powder. When I bought my license yesterday the guy said don't forget to sign the back of the big game, I said what? There is no place to sign, he said he knew, but it said on the front you have to sign it. I doubt if a warden would write you up on this as long as everything else was legit, but you never know.

When Texas used to issue real "stamps" to go with the license, you had to sign across the front of it.

Hurry up and wait.

Hey Taz,

Last year when I went through the VA Hunter Education course, they mentioned that you had to sign your license. Why? I can't remember.... something about a new rule they came out with.

I thought you always had to sign the darn thing.

"Gee, that orange cap ain solid orange, got letterin on it, don't it?"
Well, we don't have that problem. Note page 35 of the 7/02-6/02 regulations:
When hunting any game species during a general firearms deer season, every hunter or person accompanying a hunter shall wear a blaze orange hat or blaze orange upper body clothing that is visible from 360 degrees or display at least 100 square inches of solid blaze orange material at shoulder level within body reach and visible from 360 degrees. Hats may have a bill or brim color or design other than solid blaze orange. Hats shall not be in "camo" style, since the latter is designated to prevent visibility. A logo which does not detract from visibility may be worn on a blaze orange hat.
Of course, that last bit there is sort of open to interpretation, ain't it?
