Voting for crossbows during the regular archery season and the buck limit changes will be voted on and confirmed tomorrow (5-19-05)
I vote YES on crossbows getting legalized for all hunters during the regular archery season.
And I voted YES on the buck limit change which allows you to use your 3 buck tags in one day or whenever.

Im not so sure crossbows should be used during archery, yeah some older people could get back into it, but theyve had their turn and its time to let the younger generation have theirs. Im not sold on the idea either way but Im leaning towards NO. As for the bucks, if you can harvest 3 in one day and want to end the possibility of getting a monster later in the season so be it. I like to have the thought that I still have a shot at a big one. I think allowing hunters to take more than 1 buck in a day could hurt the buck population.

Well the way I see it no matter how low or high you make the bag limit on bucks you probably still wont see a decent buck all year because the average joe doesnt get to spend as much time in the woods as these so called pro's.
You can raise the buck limit to whatever and it wont make the deer herd suffer. After the season is over and the damage is done, what do you think the remaining 700,000 deer do? Its called the cycle of life and it seems to be working because the 100,000 hunters in TN dont kill every possible legal deer they can. Hell most dont kill more than 1 deer in a season let alone fill there tag. Ive known 1 person to fill there tag for deer in tn in the 10yrs I have been huntin.
As for the passed crossbow thing...maybe I will bowhunt this year

You have some arguable points but if you start killing off a bunch of little bucks, then they dont grow to be good ones and the bigger older bucks just get smarter and then you end up not seeing any or just the new crop of 1 year olds with small racks. If thats what you want then kill spike after spike or let them walk and get a decent one like these.

Shootin a big buck is great and I like to every now and then but a deer is a deer to me. You dont get anything from a big buck that you cant from a spike or a fork besides a more bone on the heads. Hunt it, Kill it, Eat it, Repeat it
