You should get yourself a semi auto. I dont think it would be much more $. Im thinking 200.00 Canadian is around $161 in the US.

pumps are OK.. but if you want a more accurate gun go for a bolt action. Plus since you mentioned that it was "in good condition", it sounds used. I wouldn't buy it unless I knew it shot good, which goes for all used firearms. There's usually a good reason someone sold it to begin with. Not too many people sell off rifles that shoot good. Not to mention that pumps have a tube magazine, AKA- pain in the butt to unload. Bolt actions usually have a clip. As for a semi-auto, I wouldn't use a semi-auto for anything but plinking cans.

Why, whats the difference?

Semi-autos just don't have the accuracy. Now there are some descent semi-autos out there and with a little work will shoot a fairly good group. Something about the shells being jammed into the chamber by the slide doesn't make them accurate. The most accurate guns in the world are bolt and single shot. I like semi-auto for the fun of shooting, but that's about it.

I also like the bolt actions, not because of accuracy but because to me they are just funner to reload. gives ya that old western type feeling in my opinion. But i didn't know they made pump actions. hmm, you learn something new every day.

coyote said that 200 canadian is 161 american and for that much i think that you could probably buy a brand spankin new rifle of your choice, get whatever action you want. but I dont know anything about the gun you are considering buying. if you like it and trust the person then go for it. but i would shop around a little bit first, see what else is out there.

Get yourself a Henry lever action 22. I was shooting stationary clay pigeons out to 200 yards. This is the most accurate gun I have ever shot, and its very well made.
