Why do so many of you guys perfer the 25-06 to the .243? I am in the same quandry. I would like to be able to use if for praire dogs as well as coyote.
I was leaning toward the .243, should I rethink this?

I dont see any reason to rethink it. A 243 is a good varmint cal a 25-06 is just best for longer range shots. If youre leaning towards the 243 I think you shlould just stick to it. But I do have a 25-06 Ackley that I use for 400+ yards that is a real tackdriver that id recomend.

Thanks coyotegod. I will have to check out some reloading sites and determine the best fit. When my son gets old enough to hunt with me I may end up using it for deer also. So I will have to consider that.

Wow, thats a heck of a shot. How long is that sun-shade on your scope?

It not from the sun.
Being heated up by a trunk gives a mirage from warm air which prevents an aiming.
