Default Slugs for Coyotes?

Just got myself a Mossgerg 500 Combo, with Slug and Field barrel. I was wondering if any of you would use a slug for Coyote hunting or if you would stick with Shot. I would think you would have quite a bit more range with a slug.

Anyhow sorry for the newbie question.

If you don't want the hide, nothing is too big. If you want the hide, maybe some shot on the larger side would be a better choice.
