What To Do With Squirrels???
 

I plan on doing some squirrel hunting after deer season but wondered what to do with squirrels after taking them?I used to go when I was a kid and just left them on the ground but that does'nt seem like the thing to do anymore.I heard the meat of a squirrel was'nt very good,is this true?What do all of you guys do with your squirrles?

Where'd you here that? The meat is great. I skin them and eat em.

Eat them. The meat is as good as rabbit. I like to brown the meat then put it in a pressure-cooker with veggies.

who ever told you that was "WRONG"; they are great tasting little critters.I eat all I take.if they are young,just pan fry like you will chicken. if old one ; pressure them till tender then make gravy and add to mash potatoes,homemade biscuts;cold iced tea."great meal"

if you are not going to eat them; then don't shoot them,unless it is to control crop damage.

i skin them and then take them into the house and cut of their arms and legs at the shoulders and hips. and take from the back of the shoulders to right in front of the hips this has good meat on it then after that is all cut up i freezs the parts in a 2 liter pop bottle with the top cut off. then to make it i pan fry it till it is browned then bake it in a pie tin with a little water for app. 2 hours. some advise is to just try and learn from mistakes and find small things to improve on.

I grind the meat with a 80/20 mix with pork fat, then use it in chilli. making me hungary just thinkin about it.

I would crawl over a filet mignon to get to some of my grandmother's squirrel gravy.

I hope that you never again shoot a squirrel and leave it lay--I'm sure you won't--If you do, or allow anybody else to--there should be some arse-kickin'

I like to boil mine first until the meat is getting ready to fall off the bone, then brown them in a frying pan real well, then add a little water and let them steam--excellent--then make a little gravy--man I'm hungry

Living out west now--squirrrel hunting (in WV) is the outdoor activity I miss most.
