Hey folks.
I Just got this message from a friend in Sweden.
If you feel like joining this campain of "learning bu qoncequence" and give theese vegan activists a choice between stopping the harassment or be eing the cause to moore animals shot you are more than welcome. "A number of militant vegans in Sweden are trying to stop chinchilla farming. By trying to create a public opinion against it? No, by harassing an individual farmer, a 70-year old man in Uppsala, Sweden. The lameass liberal police... and such... have evidently not done a very good job deterring this riff-raff. They have even set up a campaign web site, www.chinchillor.tk (in Swedish) where they show names, photos of the farmer and his wife, addresses, phone numbers and such and they have a campaign diary too.. They brag about how they throw alarm devices on his roof in the middle of the nights, and they also tell where these alarm devices can be bought cheaply. These scumbags do not protest at the farm, they spend their resources to HARASS HIM IN HIS HOME. Almost sorry to say, it's illegal to shoot people for trespassing in Sweden - this may of course eventually turn into a court case to prove it's legal Of course, they are all anonymous, but they do brag about it on a swedish vegan web site, www.vegan.nu. SO WHAT CAN WE DO ABOUT IT? Well, a hunter friend of mine with a degree in sociology explained that these people were beyond reasoning. They need some arguments that are far more clear. I talk about plus and minus, maybe they can understand that. If more animals are killed because of their campaign than they can "save", well.... It kind of removes the incentive of their harassment. This riff-raff claim that they want to save animal lives, letīs give them a chance to do that. A number of friends of mine have initiated a little support&solidarity campaign of shooting varmints and other pests, as long as this harassment continues. We only count occations that would not have occurred unless we decided "heck, I'll go up early today and shoot some varmints to annoy those vegans". We now have scored some 400, mostly seagulls and crows. We will stop and go back to "normal" hunting habits if the harassment stops. This have really started to annoy these people, they are very much aware of this campaign and according to their postings in the vegan forums it has indeed caused some unrest amongst them. PLEASE Give the varmint hunting (or other hunting that leaves nice "body counts") an extra go a few times. It's for a good cause. And post the results in this thread, please, I will be happy to forward them to the harassment campaign web site. If we are all diligent about this, I will for your enjoyment translate a few of the reactions to this campaign. I will, too, post the URL of this thread to the harassment campaign webb site just to show them that the farmer solidarity campaign has gone international. Please help. Go hunting varmints, post your scores in this thread. Regards, /HerrBerg" /swede1 |
RE: Hey folks.
Let me see if I understand correctly;
(1) Animal rights activists are trespassing on a farm. I am assuming this farm has all nessesary permissions / registrations etc. (2) The activists are placing noisy electric and / or mechanical devices on the roof tops of the housing units used by the farm owners and / or workers, denying them sleep and therby reducing their eficiency and interfering with legal trade and commerce. (3) The activists publish proof or admissions of guilt on the web. If so, your plan to increase the legitimate destruction of pests and to let them know about it sounds good to me (important: I am not a legal expert). Here are two more thoughts on the matter. I wonder if they are equally as good or at least useable? (a) Provide to the doorstep of these activists free samples of the best edible game you can harvest, whether they want it or not. Insure it is properly cleaned, well packaged, and include a recipe. I assume that the police will not view trespassing on their apartment units or whatever housing they use as any more serious than their trspassing on the farms? (b) Investigate the use of trade agreements: example: if any of these activists are from other countries or affiliated with such, Could the European equivalent of "free trade" laws be invoked? example: casting their activity as illegal disruption of commerce in one country by forces from another country? In closing: My perceptions of Sweden may not be very accurate or up to date but I've percieved Sweden as a socially progressive land of reasonable firearms laws and with good outdoors sports traditions. My best rifle comes from Sweden and bears the crown of your king. I am saddened to hear that your traditions and culture are being attacked. BB |
