RE: What Cal. For Varments?

I was at my local gun store and the guy told me his father has a Ruger in .204 he uses for varmints. He likes it overall unless there is much wind and then all bets are off since the cartridge is so light it is significantly affected to winds over 10 mph. Don't know if it is a load of crap but that is what he said.

I went with a Savage 12FVSS in 22-250 waiting for the scope to arrive today (Bushnell Elite 4200 4x16x40) Can't wait to try it out.

Actually, this is a "load of crap", because of the higher BC of the .204 bullets, they have less wind drift and are flatter than the 22-250. The only thing that the 22-250 has over the .204 is a slightly better amount of energy at impact, OH, I guess the 22-250 has one other thing over thew .204, more kick at the rifle butt!
