Urban Squirrels
 

I understand that there is a greater chance of rabbies in urban squirrels than rural squirrels, but does anyone know the percentage chance of that being greater?

Here's the reason I ask: A buddy and myself are trapping squirrels around his house ...and another house to relocate to some hunting land we are allowed to use. It has a large nut tree, berries, and good living for a squirrel. We figure the urban squirrel really doesn't have any natural enemies, so why not relocate...give em a day or two, then go hunting. We want to find out more about the incidence of urban squirrel rabbies before we would cook any of these squirrels, so any information is greatly appreciated.

Squirrels don't realy get rabbies.

I would not eat them if they been into trash cans and dumpsters.
